Event: Hands On Habitat Day
Creating, restoring, and maintaining habitat is a constant battle. We invite you to join the Washington County Pheasants Forever of Pheasants Forever in its quest to ensure a country rich in natural resources and long on people willing to work to preserve them. After all, natural resources - pheasants, quail, and other wildlife, plus the land, air, and water on which they live - are our greatest resources.
Join us for Hands-On Habitat Day on Friday, April 22.
WHEN: Start time of 11am
WHERE: The entire group will gather at a residence (19245 Hilo Avenue N., Forest Lake 55025) and carpool a short distance to Hardwood Creek WMA. This location will also serve as a gathering point for sharing comradery after the event.
ACTIVITIES:
- Invasive brush removal
- Garbage pick-up
- Fence Removal
TOOLS TO BRING/WHAT TO WEAR:
- Work gloves
- Brush loppers
- Hand saws
- Boots and work clothes for muddy conditions
- I will be providing herbicide dabbers for cut-stump treatment
- RAIN GEAR – As of right now the rain chances are slim until after the project, but please bring what you need in case it rains.
- HUNTERS SOCIAL:
After our work has been completed, you are invited back to the original gathering point for burgers, beverages (adult and non-adult), and a bonfire to connect with upland hunters and share a fun afternoon.

The event is a social get-together and fund raiser for Washington County Pheasants forever. There will be raffles and short presentations by Howard Vincent, President and CEO of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, and Tom Landwehr, Minnesota DNR Commissioner.

Join Pheasants Forever for its inaugural “Birds & Brews” event at Lift Bridge Brewing Company on Thursday evening, September 6th! We will raise a glass to upland habitat conservation efforts and provide a primer for the 2018 upland hunting season in Minnesota. Connect with like-minded upland hunters during a night that will feature:
- Live music sponsored by Washington County Pheasants Forever
- Food truck on site: Chef Shack featuring Bison Burgers, Thai Green Curry, BBQ Pulled Pork, Smoked Brisket Shot Gun Burritos, and “Dirty Cow Girl” Veggie Burger
- Updates and information regarding permanent habitat projects acquired by Pheasants Forever in Minnesota and Wisconsin

Annual Disabled/Wounded Warrior Hunt

Our PF chapter will once again be recruiting disabled hunters and volunteers for a Disabled/Wounded Warrior Pheasant Hunt which is hosted by Whispering Emerald Ridge Game Farm in Menomonie, WI. This is a unique opportunity for up to 24 hunters to get out into the field by UTV/ATV and hunt pheasants. The chapter provides significant funding, helps to recruit hunters and volunteers, and also provides the much of the food for the event.

Annual Youth Shoot at the Oakdale Gun Club

Event: Annual Youth Shoot at the Oakdale Gun Club
Our annual Youth Shoot was a tremendous success! We will gather around 4:30PM and run the event from 5-7:30PM. Youth will be divided into three groups as before and rotate between three stations - one group shooting trap, one group on the .22 range and the third group eating dinner.
We need volunteers for this event, particularly PF members who are also members of the Oakdale Gun Club. All range officers must be OGC members so if you qualify or have friends who are OGC members, please appeal to them for help. This is a great event, providing an opportunity for youth to do some supervised shooting prior to hunting season. We typically have 30-35 youth participating
